How long does it take to have my dog groomed?

We usually ask 2 hours for just a bath (larger dogs may take more time) and 3-4 hours for any haircut. We believe the grooming process shouldn’t be rushed and each pet should be given plenty of time to be pampered to the fullest extent!

How much does it cost?

Prices vary by breed, size, coat condition, and desired service. Please call for an accurate price quote.

Do you use any sedatives on my dog?

Definitely not! If your dog has high levels of stress and anxiety while visiting the groomer, you may obtain some from your vet which you can give to your pet before coming in. We focus on making the grooming process as comfortable as possible for your pet, and some services may be refused or discontinued if we feel your pet’s safety will be compromised.

Do you offer flea dips or topical spot-on treatments?

No, we do not. If your pup has ticks or fleas, we will bathe them in a pesticide-free shampoo that will kill any live fleas and ticks. However, this does not prevent any more from jumping back on your dog. We highly recommend keeping your dog up to date on monthly preventative treatments.

What vaccinations do you require?

As soon as your puppy is old enough to have it, we require all dogs be current on their rabies vaccination. We need you to bring in proof of the shot from the vet, not the tag on the collar. We also require a 48 hour waiting period between a vaccination and when we can bathe your pet, as to not irritate or infect the injection site. No other vaccinations are required, though we do strongly suggest keeping your pup up to date on all shots.

Do you groom puppies?

Yes! We love puppies here at Kat’s Doggie Styles. As long as they are at least 8 weeks old, we recommend starting grooming as early as possible.

What about senior pets?

Absolutely! If your dog has any special conditions or needs, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate him or her.

I just got my dog spayed/neutered. Can I bring them in for grooming?

Not right away. We require at least the stitches be out before we can bathe a dog. After that, ask your vet for the safest waiting time before bringing your pooch in.

I like my dog to be fluffy, but every time I bring him in he is matted and has to be shaved. Why can’t you leave his hair long?

Mats can be very tricky and if left unattended long enough can cause severe health issues. We may be able to brush out minor mats, but moderate to severely matted pets must be shaved down. The process of dematting is very dangerous and painful to your dog, and we do not believe in that at Kat’s. If you like to keep a longer coat on your dog, it is necessary to thoroughly brush him every day and bring him in for professional grooming regularly.

How often should my pet be groomed?

We recommend every 4-6 weeks to keep your pup in tip-top shape!
